Hi from Katie Miller
Thursday, June 21st, 2007Oh the irony. It must be 80s night on Dutch tv because “Fish Called Wanda” just ended and “Repo Man” just started. I believe the tone is set…be afraid.
In the ten years since I saw you, many, many, MANY things have happened. I got married, worked for the Red Cross during 9/11 and was humbled by the enormity of it all (and was on the receiving end of Bill O’Reilly’s wrath – that was fun), became a dog owner, completed my first marathon, completed my last marathon, welcomed two more nieces and one more nephew, got divorced, returned to advertising, moved to Amsterdam, found the love of my life and discovered the wonders of Skype to keep all the juggled balls in the air.
It has been quite an adventure and I have no intention of slowing down any time soon. Europe is amazing, I may be Wieden+Kennedy’s biggest fan, as that company has given me the opportunity to have the career I always wanted, I am crazy auntie Katie to many, many of my friend’s babies, I travel as much as I can, still see as much live music as possible and I get to ride my bike to work along a canal that makes me cry most days at the knockout beauty of it all. Life is good. Very, very good.
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to make it out to Portland for the reunion and that makes me sad because I would love to be there. I hope many photos are posted so I can virtually enjoy it.
I started a blog when I moved over called travelcheese where I update my goings-on both big and small. The latest post is about Katie Holmes’ new haircut, so you know it is way highbrow.
You can also send me an email at ktgirl30@yahoo.com. I would love to hear from you, and plan on grabbing a beer with me if ever you are in the ‘Dam (or any country close by)!
